Dan Houser still hasn't seen GTA 6's Extended Look. The Rockstar co-founder apparently told VGC he's going to try and avoid it.

"I will try and avoid it."

That's a weird one to wrap my head around. This is the guy who co-founded Rockstar and helped shape every GTA from III onward. The Extended Look dropped back in August and gave us the biggest chunk of Vice City footage we've had so far. And he's just... not watching it.

I get it on some level. If you spent years building the foundation for a series and then stepped away, maybe seeing the new thing feels like watching someone else drive your car. Or maybe he just wants to experience it fresh whenever he actually plays it. The article doesn't go deep into his reasoning beyond that quote, but the headline alone is enough to get the sub talking.

It also makes me think about how different the game is from whatever he originally had in mind before leaving. Lucia and Jason, Leonida, the whole modern Vice City thing. He's not involved anymore, so the Extended Look is probably the first real look at a version of GTA he didn't have a hand in.

Can't say I'd have that kind of self control. I've watched the Extended Look more times than I care to admit. But I'm not Dan Houser.

Either way, it's a fun little detail about one of the most important people in GTA history just choosing to look away.
