rockstar's extended look description is basically a ps5 ad

Just noticed the description on the official Extended Look video and it's pretty telling. Rockstar says it's captured entirely from in-game footage on PS5, calls it the biggest and most immersive evolution of the series yet, and then drops 'plays best on PlayStation 5' right before the November 19 date. I know Sony has some kind of marketing deal with Rockstar, but seeing it spelled out like that in the description is a bit much. Xbox players are probably rolling their eyes hard right now.

And 'biggest, most immersive evolution' is a huge claim. After watching that 26 minute video I'm not going to argue with it, but it's still a bold thing to put in a YouTube description. They're not even trying to be subtle about the PS5 push. I get it, Sony probably paid a ton for that marketing window, but it feels weird to see it so blatant when the game is also coming to Series X|S on the same day.

November 19 is still a ways off but at least it's locked in. The wait is going to be brutal. I keep checking the calendar like that's going to make time move faster. Anyway, do you think the 'plays best on PS5' line is just marketing fluff or is there an actual performance gap we should be worried about on Series X?

I've seen this kind of marketing language before. It's usually just timed exclusivity on trailers, not a real performance gap.

Same priority here. Day one parity seems likely. I'll be too busy mapping mission arcs for 100% completion to notice a few dropped frames.

Marketing deals are just static between the songs. Give me a solid Flash FM roster and I'm golden on any hardware!

Exactly. That "plays best" line is just marketing fluff, I don't think Series X players need to worry. Rockstar is not shipping broken version for one console. Here in brazil we just want November to come already, this console war is boring.
