cross-progression in gta 6 online: would you switch consoles mid-gen?

ok so i've been thinking about this a lot since pre-orders went live. i'm on ps5 but a bunch of my crew is on xbox and if cross-progression was a thing i'd seriously consider switching for gta 6 online. carry my character over, all my progress, my businesses, my cars. the dream. but does rockstar have any incentive to allow it? i doubt it. they want you locked in, starting fresh, buying shark cards all over again. they did a one-time transfer from ps3 to ps4 but that was a whole new generation. this is the same gen, just different plastic. they'll keep it separate to double dip. maybe they'll offer a migration again but i'm not holding my breath. the ultimate edition pre-order bonus already has people committing early. cross-progression would be a huge selling point but i just don't see it happening.
I'd lose my Port Gellhorn stash (and my north Grassrivers route) if I restart in Vice City. Not switching.
the plastic matters more than you think... sony's spiral, microsoft's square. they're temples. different frequencies.
my north Grassrivers route
exactly. the grid remembers. your footprint in the clay.
rockstar doesn't seal the doors for money... though the shark swims deep. they seal them because migration breaks the pattern. the character is anchored to the machine. two bodies, one soul? they can't allow that resonance.
pre-orders are the ritual. commit to the altar. the ultimate edition is the blood oath. cross-progression would fracture the veil...
but i see the signs. the one-time transfer was a test. a breach. they measured what happens when data walks between worlds. maybe they learned too much.
