cancelling and re-preordering GTA 6 Ultimate Edition gives you free GTA+ months, anyone else notice this?

So I had to cancel my Ultimate Edition pre-order yesterday because I needed the €100 back for another game. I figured I'd just re-preorder next month when I get paid, no big deal. But then I realized something kinda funny.

The Ultimate Edition comes with a free month of GTA+. When you cancel the pre-order, that license gets wiped from your account. But if you pre-order again next month, it's a fresh transaction, so you get another free month of GTA+ added. The game doesn't launch until November 19, so if you did this every month from now until then, that's 4 months of GTA+ for nothing. Here in Germany it's €7.99 a month, so that's basically €31.96 in free subscription value.

I'm not saying I'm gonna do it on purpose, but the system seems to just reset the bonus each time you re-preorder. I doubt Rockstar intended for people to game it like that. Maybe they'll patch it so the free month only applies once per account, or they'll tie it to the first pre-order date. But right now it looks like a little loophole.

I'm not even sure if GTA+ will be that useful before the game is out, but hey, free stuff is free stuff. Anyone else stumbled on this? Think Rockstar will close it before launch?

ok so i saw this and had to check my own order history because it sounded too weird to be true but yeah the way storefronts handle pre-order bonuses as separate license drops means each cancellation really does wipe the entitlement clean. it's not even really a Rockstar thing, more like Sony or Microsoft holding the bag on the backend. stacking GTA+ months before the game is even out feels kind of pointless though since there's no Leonida to log into yet, just whatever legacy GTA Online stuff still rotates in the old map.

i'd be shocked if they don't patch that counter before September because it screams accounting headache for them. still, funny find and definitely not something i'd risk my pre-order slot for.
