new transform races in gta online, the kortz center update quietly added five
Logged into GTA Online last night and saw the Kortz Center Heist update dropped a few new transform races. Didn't see much chatter about it here so figured I'd mention it. Five total, split between Known Unknowns and Unknown Unknowns. The Known Unknowns are Blue Collar, Dunes of Hazard, and Handlebar Heaven. The Unknown Unknowns are Creek & Canyon and Misguiding Light.
I ran through a couple of them. Blue Collar starts you in a truck then flips you into a boat halfway through, which is a weird transition but it works. Dunes of Hazard is all about the off-road stuff, lots of sand and jumps. Handlebar Heaven is bikes only for the first stretch, then it throws you into a plane. That one got chaotic fast with a full lobby.
The Unknown Unknowns are the ones where you don't know what vehicle you're getting next, which is either fun or infuriating depending on your mood. Creek & Canyon has some tight turns that punish you if you're not paying attention. Misguiding Light is probably my favorite of the bunch, the name fits because the checkpoints are placed in ways that make you second guess the obvious route.
I know everyone's focused on GTA 6 right now, and I get it. But GTA Online is still getting free updates and some of this stuff is actually decent. The transform race concept has been around for years but these new tracks feel a bit more polished than the older ones. Maybe Rockstar is using GTA Online as a testing ground for some of the race design ideas they'll bring to GTA 6's online mode. Who knows.
Anyone else tried these yet? Which one did you hate the most?

I've only run Blue Collar so far and that truck to boat transition felt slightly janky. The physics handoff might be running on a newer swap script and I'm wondering if there's a desync window where the truck doesn't delete before the boat spawns. Has anyone clipped into the water during the switch? Creek & Canyon's tight turns probably have some wallride potential too.
that truck to boat transition felt slightly janky
I ran Blue Collar yesterday and I agree. I actually spawned underwater once and had to wait for respawn. Creek & Canyon is much better, those tight turns feel like mountain roads here in Brazil. Handlebar Heaven with full lobby is just pure chaos.
spawned underwater once
that is sending me lol. i thought i was bad at races because i'm new but maybe the game is just haunted
i didn't even know transform races were a thing until last month. so you're telling me in handlebar heaven i gotta go from bike to plane with zero warning? in a full lobby?? ngl that sounds like anxiety central
someone said creek & canyon has tight turns. are those the kind of turns where i'll immediately slam into a tree or is it forgiving. asking for a friend
the testing ground theory makes sense though. if rockstar is polishing race design now i'm here for it. gta 6 online is gonna eat either way
