two limited edition ps5 controllers coming for gta 6

Sony and PlayStation are putting out two limited edition PS5 controllers for GTA 6. Insider Gaming has the rundown, though the snippet I saw didn't include the actual designs or dates yet. Still, two separate controllers is a bigger push than I expected for a game that's already got a $99.99 Ultimate Edition and a pre-order bonus pack.

I've been holding off on buying a second DualSense because my launch one has stick drift starting to creep in. If these GTA 6 controllers look good, that solves my problem. I just hope they're not the same base controller with a tiny logo in the corner. Rockstar usually has decent taste with merch, but Sony's limited editions can be hit or miss. The Spider-Man ones were clean, the God of War one was okay, and then there were some real stinkers.

Two designs probably means one for Lucia and one for Jason, or maybe a Vice City neon theme and a Leonida outdoors theme. I'm not going to pretend I know. What I do know is that I'll be refreshing the PlayStation Direct page the second pre-orders go live, because these things sell out in minutes and then show up on eBay for triple the price.

My only real concern is whether they'll have the same build quality as the standard DualSense. I don't want to drop $80 or more on a controller that drifts in six months just because it has a palm tree on it. But if the design is good enough, I'll probably cave anyway. My wallet is already crying and the game isn't even out until November.
