Sony's doing a GTA 6 limited edition DualSense, preorders start September 10

So Sony finally gave us something physical to get excited about. A limited edition DualSense for GTA 6, preorders open September 10. No word on price or what it actually looks like yet, which is kind of annoying but also very on brand for how this whole rollout has gone.

I've been holding off on grabbing a second controller for when the game drops in November. My launch DualSense has stick drift that comes and goes, and I was just going to get a standard black one. But if this thing has any kind of Vice City vibe to it, I'm in. Pink and teal would be an instant buy. Even just a subtle palm tree or something on the touchpad would do it.

What gets me is the timing. Preorders start September 10, which is still over two months before the game. That's a long time to sit with a controller you can't use for the thing it's made for. Unless they're planning to ship them early? Probably not. But it does make me wonder if we'll see more physical stuff announced around then. The Vintage Vice City Pack was a preorder bonus, but that's just in-game stuff. This is the first actual physical item tied to GTA 6 that I can remember.

Also curious if Xbox gets anything. Microsoft has done custom controllers for big games before, but Sony seems way more aggressive with limited edition DualSense drops. If you're on Series X, you're probably just sitting there watching PS5 players get all the fun plastic.

I'm not usually a collector, but GTA 6 is the one game I'd make an exception for. My wallet is already crying from the Ultimate Edition preorder. Now this.
