So GameStop just bumped the price on pre-owned PS5 Pro units by 55%. It's now $1400 for a used console. That's a massive jump, and it's all because GTA 6 is six weeks out.

I saw the VGC piece and it's kind of wild. A used console selling for $1400. Not a special edition, not bundled with anything. Just a pre-owned PS5 Pro sitting on a shelf. The demand for GTA 6 has people doing some desperate math.

We all knew the PS5 Pro was the best way to play GTA 6 on console. The GPU and PSSR upscaling are the closest you'll get to maxing out Leonida without a PC port. And there is no PC port announced. So if you want the smoothest Vice City experience in November, you need either a PS5 Pro or an Xbox Series X. The Pro is the more powerful machine.

GameStop pricing used hardware like this isn't new. They've done it with GPUs and other consoles during shortages. But 55% in one jump is aggressive. It makes me wonder if they're seeing actual sell through at these prices or just trying to capture the panic buyers.

I remember when the PS5 Pro launched and people said $700 was too much. Now a used one is double that. If you bought one at launch, you're sitting on an asset. If you waited, well, this is the price of waiting.

Anyone actually considering paying $1400 for a used PS5 Pro just to have the best GTA 6 experience?
