GTA 6 reportedly ships with 55 trophies and achievements, and one of them is apparently called Mythic
Saw over on Insider Gaming that a post has popped up claiming GTA 6 will come with 55 trophies on PlayStation and 55 achievements on Xbox when it lands on November 19th. That's the whole of it, really. No breakdown of how they're split between bronze, silver, gold and platinum, no word on whether any of them are tied to Online, nothing about missables or difficulty.
55 is a chunky number though. For a game this size it almost feels low if anything, which probably tells you more about how big Leonida is meant to be than anything else. If the campaign is as sprawling as the map suggests, you'd expect a trophy list that makes you actually poke around every corner of the state.
the Mythic bit is doing a lot of work in that headline
Insider Gaming's headline mentions a "mythic platinum," which I'm guessing is a label for the platinum trophy rather than anything gameplay related. Could be wrong. There's no detail in the writeup to back it up either way, so I'm not going to pretend I know what it means. If it's just a fancy name for the completion trophy, fine. If it hints at some kind of tiered system above platinum, that'd be a first for Rockstar and I'd want to see it from somewhere more solid than a forum repost.
Worth keeping expectations in check here. Trophy lists leak all the time in the weeks before launch and they're right maybe half the time. This one isn't even a full list, just a count. A number is easy to make up and impossible to disprove until someone's actually got the game running on their console.
what I actually want to know
- how many are story gated versus free roam stuff
- whether there's anything for the Keys, Grassrivers or Mount Kalaga specifically
- if any of them require Online, because that changes my platinum plans entirely
- difficulty trophies. please, no difficulty trophies
My gut says we get the real list within a week or two of launch, probably from someone who got an early copy. Until then 55 is a fun number to chew on and not much else. I'll be watching for the actual names, because that's where the interesting stuff always hides. A trophy called something like "Rusty Anchor Regular" would tell us more about the game than a count ever could.
