the jason actor rumor just got denied, back to square one

Another one bites the dust. Dexerto is reporting that the actor a bunch of us were convinced was playing Jason has flat out said he's not involved. No "maybe", no "I can't talk about it", just a denial.

I remember the threads. People were comparing jawlines, ears, even the way he stands in some indie movie. It got real weird. And now it's just... not him.

What gets me is how often this keeps happening. Rockstar has kept the actual cast so locked down that we're basically playing a guessing game with every vaguely athletic white guy who's done a commercial. At this point I'm half expecting the real Jason to be some total unknown who's never had an IMDB page before.

Not blaming anyone for hoping. The Lucia actress situation seemed to settle pretty early, or at least we think it did. Jason's been way harder to pin down. Every "confirmed" actor has either gone quiet or denied it. This is at least the third time I've seen a frontrunner fall apart.

Does it even matter for the game? No. But I like knowing who I'm watching. The performance capture is a huge part of why RDR2 hit so hard, and I want to follow whoever's doing Jason the same way I followed Roger Clark. If they're truly unknown, fine, I'll find them after launch. But the mystery is getting old.

So now what? Do we reset the speculation board? Or do we just accept we won't know until the credits roll?
