GTA 6 fan spends months tracking planets to predict trailer 3 release date

So we've officially reached the point of trailer 3 speculation where people are consulting the cosmos. Literally.

A GTA 6 fan has apparently spent months tracking the positions of planets to try and predict when Rockstar is dropping the third trailer. Not analyzing frame-by-frame clues, not decoding Newswire teases โ€” actual astronomy. The kind of stuff NASA does, but for a video game trailer.

And honestly? Can we even blame them? We're sitting here with two trailers and a November release date, and Rockstar's communication strategy is basically just silence punctuated by pre-order links. People are going to get creative when there's nothing else to go on.

Using the position of the planets to figure out the most likely date.

Look, is this going to be accurate? Almost certainly not. Rockstar doesn't schedule trailer drops based on celestial events (or do they? ๐Ÿ‘€). But you have to respect the dedication. This person woke up day after day, checked where Jupiter was hanging out, and said "yeah this matters for GTA". That's a level of commitment the rest of us can only aspire to.

The funniest part is if the trailer randomly drops on whatever date this person predicted, the entire community will lose its mind and astrology will officially become canon in the GTA fandom.

Until Rockstar actually gives us something concrete, expect more of this kind of content. We're all just out here chasing any signal through the noise.

Look, I respect the hustle, but if we're going to obsess over something for months, can it at least be the map? Because I've been staring at those two trailers frame by frame and I swear there's a highway interchange near Port Gellhorn that looks like it connects to the Grassrivers route. That's the kind of celestial body I care about.

That said, Rockstar's silence really has us all losing it. With GTA V, we could at least pore over the Los Santos blueprint they released. Now we're out here checking Jupiter's orbit like it owes us a trailer.

You sure about that? Rockstar literally named a game after a planetary body. Never count them out.

Okay that's a reach and a half, but I respect it.

Honestly all this cosmic energy would be better spent on actual prep. We know the map, we know the protagonists, we know the release window. Start assigning roles. Who's running point on the heist? Who's on overwatch? Who's wheelman? Lucia and Jason are going to have synergy mechanics and nobody's talking about how to optimize the two-player approach options.

Trailer drops when it drops. The payout doesn't change based on Jupiter's position.

True, but kara_drives, you're underselling what we can pull from the trailers we have. That Port Gellhorn interchange MapNerd mentioned? If you watch the May 2025 trailer at 1:22, there's a brief shot of a highway sign with route numbers. Three digits, starts with what looks like a 9. That's not nothing for mapping the road network.

Planet tracking is obviously a dead end, but let's not pretend there's nothing to work with. Rockstar buried real details in those two minutes of footage. We just have to look harder than astrology.
