jason's military background makes way more sense if he got a dishonorable discharge

Been thinking about this since we learned Jason was in Army Special Forces. On the surface it's a weird fit, right? Dude has elite training and discipline but ends up running with drug crews in the Keys. You'd figure he could land a decent security gig or something without going back to crime.

But what if he didn't leave the Army on good terms? A dishonorable discharge changes everything. That's not just a bad reference, it's a federal conviction that follows you forever. No GI Bill, no VA benefits, and good luck getting hired for anything that requires a background check. He'd have all this military experience and basically be unemployable in any legitimate field that would actually use it.

The firearm thing is huge too. Someone with a dishonorable discharge can't legally own a gun. So every time we see Jason holding a weapon in the trailers, he's already committing a federal crime just by having it. That adds a whole layer of tension to his character. Lucia seems way more comfortable with the criminal stuff, but Jason hesitates. If he's already got a conviction hanging over him, he knows exactly how bad things get if he's caught again. That hesitation isn't weakness, it's self-preservation from someone who's already been through the system.

It also explains the Keys connection. Maybe he joined the Army to escape a rough upbringing, thought he could turn his life around, and then something went wrong and he got kicked out with nothing. So he falls back into the only life he knew growing up. That's a pretty tragic arc if Rockstar leans into it. The guy genuinely tried to go straight and the system basically shoved him back into crime.

Obviously the dishonorable discharge part is pure speculation on my part. Rockstar hasn't said anything about how Jason left the military. But it would make his character make a lot more sense. I'm really curious how much of his background they'll actually explore in the story, or if it'll just be flavor text and a couple of mission references.

What do you all think happened with Jason and the Army?
