GTA 6 customization: we don't need Midnight Club, but V was a step back from San Andreas

This. So much this. I still remember rolling into Wheel Arch Angels in San Andreas, picking out a new exhaust and actually hearing the difference. That felt like my car. GTA V's LSC was fine, but it was mostly cosmetic. The performance upgrades were just stat bars. No soul.
Midnight Club? That's a whole different thing. Dyno tuning, gear ratios, tire pressure... that's a sim racer, not a GTA game. I don't want to spend 20 minutes adjusting camber just to make a getaway. That's bloat.
The line is when it stops being fun and starts being a chore. Give me engine swaps that change the sound and feel. Widebody kits that fit the 80s Vice City vibe. But keep it arcadey. San Andreas had it right. Enough depth to make it yours, not so much you need a spreadsheet.
