Dan Houser says Bully is still one of a kind, 20 years on

Caught this little GamesRadar piece where Dan Houser looks back at Bully. He basically says it's still unlike any other open-world game out there. Hard to argue with that.
Bully nailed something Rockstar hasn't really tried since. A smaller map that felt alive, a school full of weirdos with their own schedules, and a protagonist who wasn't a criminal mastermind. Just a kid trying to survive. The cliques, the seasons, the way you could actually attend class or skip it and deal with the consequences. No other game has that same vibe.
Dan's been gone from Rockstar for a while now, so hearing him talk about the old days is kinda bittersweet. Makes you wonder what GTA VI would look like if he was still in the writers' room. Not that I'm worried about the story, but the guy had a certain touch. Bully's dialogue still cracks me up.
I keep thinking about Leonida and whether we'll get any of that schoolyard energy. Probably not, but a man can dream. At least give us a mission where we have to deal with some rich kids in Vice Beach causing trouble. Rockstar's world-building is second to none, and Bully was proof they could do it on a smaller scale without losing any of the magic.
Anyway, just a nice little nostalgia hit while we wait for November.
