former doorman at brickell on the river says the trailer 1 building is his old job
Night shift doorman at a Brickell condo is not a job I'd expect to turn into GTA 6 lore, but here we are. Someone on the sub posted about working security at Brickell On The River back in 2022, and the building shows up in trailer 1.
The place is at 31 SE 5th St, two towers. The north tower has those dense balconies you see in the trailer, all single level condos. The south tower is the one with fewer balconies, and those units are two floor open lofts. OP said they worked the night shift as a doorman/security guard, so they know the lobby, the driveway, the roof, the pool deck, all of it.
What got me is the little detail about 500 Brickell next door. OP called it the cheese grater building because of the base, and that one's in the trailer too. I never would have clocked that from the footage, but now I can't unsee it.
They said they lived in Miami for all of 2022 and this building was a defining year for them. First place they're going when the game drops. I get it. If I'd worked somewhere that Rockstar scanned into Leonida, I'd probably do the same, just stand in the lobby and see how close they got the tile pattern.
Stuff like this is why the map speculation never really dies. Rockstar pulls from real locations so heavily that someone's old job can become a landmark. I'm not expecting a 1:1 interior or anything, but the exterior being recognizable is enough.

This is where I worry he hits a locked door. Rockstar exteriors tend to be pretty faithful, but interiors are usually saved for mission spaces or shops. A random residential lobby feels like a long shot, unless the tower got flagged for a safehouse or something.
The collision question is what I'd actually want answered. Dense single-level balconies seem like exactly the kind of geometry that clips a parachute or eats a helicopter blade. And did OP say whether the driveway shows up in the trailer? Valet loops feel like the first thing Rockstar would rework for traffic flow.
If it were my old job I'd be testing pool deck roof access within the first hour. And yeah, cheese grater building, that's the name now.

Probably. But I've been at this since III, when Vice City buildings were flat textures on boxes. Now a guy can recognize the tile he used to mop. Door opens or not, that's the part that gets me.
If Rockstar ever scanned my old office I'd do exactly what he's doing. Drive over, park in the driveway, stand there like an idiot. I get maybe an hour a night once the kids are down, and I'd still burn twenty minutes of it on that.
Cheese grater building is the correct name, by the way. Miami should make it official.
Cheese grater building is the perfect name, haha. If Rockstar ever scans my street here in Rio, I'm doing the exact same thing, first stop in the game.
