Staggering number of Americans would abandon their pets to play GTA 6 early

Dexerto ran a survey piece asking people what they'd trade for a week of early access, and the answers are something else. Pets, sex, favorite habits, all on the table apparently. A shocking number of Americans said they'd ditch their dog or cat just to get into Leonida seven days sooner.

I get the hype, don't get me wrong. November 19 is close enough to taste it, and every extra day feels like a month. But my cat has been through every GTA launch with me since San Andreas. She's not getting abandoned for a head start on Lucia and Jason.

The sex one is almost understandable. A week of Vice City versus a week of whatever, easy call for some people. But the pet thing crosses a line. That's not hype, that's a red flag.

Favorite habits is the vague one. If we're talking coffee, sure. If we're talking sleep, maybe. If we're talking basic hygiene, then we need to have a conversation.

Surveys like this always get weird responses because people treat them like a joke. But the fact that enough people answered pets for it to become a headline says something about how far this launch has gotten into people's heads. I'd probably skip the pet trade, but the habit one depends on what habit we're talking about.
