gas and engine checks before a heist? finally a gta that makes you think a little
Saw someone losing their mind over the gas and engine mechanic and I honestly don't get the outrage. If you can't be bothered to glance at your fuel gauge and make sure the engine isn't about to die before you rob a bank, that's a you problem. It's not like the game is asking you to do calculus.
I'm actually glad GTA 6 is pushing back on the old formula where you could whip a minigun out of your back pocket and drive a car that never runs out of gas or takes damage. That stuff was fun for a while but it made everything feel weightless. Having to actually think for half a second before a job adds tension. I'm all for it.
That said, I get the worry about it becoming a chore. If I have to stop at a gas station every ten minutes just to drive across the map, that would get old fast. But Rockstar isn't stupid. They know the difference between immersion and busywork. I'm sure they've tuned it so it's noticeable but not annoying. People have been begging for GTA 6 to feel different from the last few games, and this is exactly the kind of small change that does that. You can't have it both ways.
Anyway, we'll see what's actually confirmed on the 27th. Until then I'm not losing sleep over it.
Where's the line for you between immersion and annoyance with stuff like this?
