Grand Theft Auto 5 is a game about shapeshifting now. I don't make the rules

PC Gamer posted an article today with a headline about GTA 5 being a game about shapeshifting now, and the entire body is one sentence basically admitting that maybe they do make the rules after all.

That's it. No breakdown, no mod list, no video. Just a headline and a shrug.

I refreshed the page twice because I thought the rest hadn't loaded. Nope.

It's funny because GTA 5's modding scene has been unhinged for years. You can turn the game into a superhero sim, a farming sim, a zombie survival thing, whatever. Shapeshifting is honestly one of the more normal ideas at this point. There's probably a mod that lets you swap into any pedestrian or animal mid mission and nobody blinks.

PC Gamer deciding to post a headline and a one line shrug feels right. The article isn't trying to explain why GTA 5 is a shapeshifting game, it's just stating it like a fact and moving on. I respect that.

Makes me wonder what the GTA 6 mod scene will look like whenever the PC version eventually shows up. If GTA 5 can become a shapeshifter after a decade, GTA 6 is going to be unrecognizable by 2036.

Anyway, GTA 5 is a shapeshifting game now. Nobody's making rules, but maybe we all sort of do.
