We're a month out from launch and I keep thinking about the people actually making this thing. The ones who've been crunching on Leonida for years while the rest of us refresh the sub every five minutes.

I don't work in games, but I've read enough postmortems to know this kind of project eats your life. The animators, the writers, the environment artists, the QA folks, the audio team, everyone. They've been staring at Vice City sunsets and swamp water and Lucia's hair physics for so long they probably can't see it anymore. And we're all about to lose our minds over it in a few weeks.

It's easy to forget there are actual humans behind the trailer shots. People who argued about how a car should handle on wet grass or whether a strip mall sign should flicker. That level of obsession is why GTA feels different. The map stops being a grid of icons and starts feeling like somewhere you've actually been.

I've been playing these games since III dropped and I still remember the first time I drove over the bridge into Vice City in the original. That feeling didn't come from a marketing team. It came from a bunch of devs who cared way too much about neon and 80s radio and the way rain hits the pavement.

So yeah, to everyone at Rockstar who's been grinding on GTA VI, thank you. For the late nights, the scrapped ideas, the stuff we'll never even notice but you'll know is there. Whatever pressure you're under right now, there's a huge chunk of us who appreciate it and can't wait to see what you built.

What's the first thing you're going to do in Leonida when the game unlocks?
