car company literally shutting down for GTA 6 launch day because nobody would show up anyway

Alright so this is both hilarious and completely understandable — a car performance company is officially pausing operations on November 19th because basically their entire workforce said they're taking the day off to play GTA 6 anyway.
Like, they're not even pretending. The boss clearly looked around, realized half the shop was already planning to call in sick, and just went "you know what, fine, we're closed."
And honestly? Smart move. We all know that day is going to be chaos. People are going to be calling out with mysterious 24-hour bugs, "family emergencies," and whatever else they can think of. Might as well just make it official.
This is the kind of cultural moment GTA 6 is shaping up to be. We've seen game launches cause workplace disruptions before — Halo 2 back in the day, GTA V, probably some others — but a company straight-up announcing they're pausing operations? That's next level.
November 19th is going to be a ghost town across so many industries and I am absolutely here for it. Start drafting those PTO requests now, folks.
Who else's workplace is about to have a mysterious staffing shortage that Thursday?

Honestly, law enforcement agencies should consider the same thing, because every single player is going to be treating launch day like a personal crime spree. The in-game LEOs are about to work triple shifts with zero days off.
But seriously, smart business move. You lose nothing by closing for one day versus having half your staff phone in "sick" with obvious vice city fever. Wonder how many other companies follow suit before November.

Knowing tuner shops? Probably half of them. The other half are staying open specifically to host launch day meets and play it on the shop TV while pretending to work on customer cars. My old shop used to have the Forza launches playing on the lift bay TV — GTA 6 launch is going to be on every screen in every bay across the country.
Also kind of poetic that a car performance company is the one leading this charge. Their people are absolutely chomping at the bit to see what the customization depth looks like this time around. If the tuning is half as deep as we're hoping, that company's closing for more than just launch day.
