Still can't get over how insane this screenshot looks 15 months later

I was scrolling through my saved posts and found that one screenshot from the trailer again, the one with Jason on the overpass at night. It's been like 15 months and I'm still noticing new stuff. The lighting on his arm is ridiculous, you can literally see the veins and the hair on his skin. Rockstar's character rendering has always been good but this feels like a whole new level.

The background is what really gets me though. That elevated freeway with the interchange, the way the city lights reflect off the concrete, the glow of Vice City in the distance. It looks so lived in. I've probably stared at this single frame longer than some entire game cutscenes. The density of detail is just absurd.

I know we're all starving for Trailer 3 but honestly going back through the existing footage helps a bit. Every time I watch I catch something new, a sign, a reflection, some tiny animation. If the actual game looks this good in motion I don't even know how I'm gonna handle it. November can't come soon enough.

Overpass lighting is WILD. Can't wait to stance something low and cruise that concrete at midnight.

that overpass is gonna be a car meet hotspot for sure. tuner_crew gets it.

cruise that concrete at midnight

gonna hit different when youre rolling deep. the lighting detail means RP servers are gonna look insane for vibe checks. just hope the netcode dont choke when twenty stanced lowriders stack up.

ok so that skin detail alone has me convinced they're running some kind of material layering system. if that's baseline for every pedestrian in vice city we're looking at a genuine generational jump. i'm not ready for november.

That lighting on overpass looks just like viaducts here in São Paulo at night. I'm catching new details every time I look.
