A GTA voice actor just picked the best story in the series, but I can't find who or what they said

Insider Gaming posted something about a voice actor from the franchise finally weighing in on the whole 'which GTA has the best story' debate. The article itself is behind some kind of wall so I couldn't actually read the take, just the headline. Kinda frustrating because I'd love to know who it was and what they picked.

We've had this argument a million times on here. GTA IV's gritty immigrant tale, San Andreas' sprawling epic, Vice City's neon soaked rise and fall, even GTA V's three man chaos. They all hit different. A voice actor who actually lived inside one of those worlds might have a perspective we don't, you know? They're not just playing the game, they're in the booth for hours becoming that character.

If anyone has a subscription or found a summary, drop the details. Was it Ned Luke? Steven Ogg? Maybe someone from the older games like Ray Liotta (RIP) or Young Maylay? I'm genuinely curious if they'd pick their own game or go with something else. Voice actors sometimes have weird relationships with the roles that made them famous.

In the meantime, what's your pick for the best GTA story? I'm torn between IV and San Andreas, but the atmosphere in Vice City still gets me every time.

Voice actors usually pick the project they bled for. I'd be shocked if Ned Luke didn't defend GTA V's pacing. For my money, GTA IV's "Three Leaf Clover" and the bank job structure make it the tightest narrative campaign. Vice City's atmosphere is unmatched, but the mission design hasn't aged as cleanly.

SA all day. Story respects the culture. Lowrider meet with Cesar. Import export lists. Your garage actually matters.

Vice City's atmosphere is unmatched

Yeah MissionRunner nailed that. But the driving physics and car selection were ROUGH. No body kits no nothing.

Give me Grassrivers and proper stance culture in VI and I'll forget every old protagonist.

Voice actors defend the gig that paid their rent. I doubt it was anyone from III or Vice City. I'd rather hear from someone who played GTA IV and felt that exhaustion in Niko's voice. Cinematic weight beats map size. SA had heart but the pacing cratered once you left Los Santos.

Can't fault them. I haven't finished a campaign since my youngest was born.
