you can pet the dog in gta 6 but also scold it and study it like rdr2

So the extended look had a little moment that I keep thinking about. Jason and Lucia are in some apartment complex grabbing a package, and there's a dog in the hallway. Jason leans down and you get three options: pet, scold, and study.
Pet is obvious. Scold is weird though. We didn't see what it does. Maybe there's a dog behavior system where you can tell them off for barking or something. Or maybe it's just a funny button. The study option is straight out of RDR2, where you could study animals to learn about them. If that's in GTA 6, we might be able to study all kinds of creatures around Leonida, not just dogs.
The New York Times preview also mentioned you can buy dog treats at shops and hand them out. So it sounds like dogs are a whole thing now. I'm not complaining. RDR2 had great animal interactions and GTA has always been light on that. Having a dog follow you around or react to you would be a nice touch.
I just hope scolding doesn't make the dog sad. I don't need that guilt in my crime game.
