professor layton hits ps5 december 10, right after gta 6

Level-5 finally gave the PS5 version a date. Professor Layton and the New World of Steam lands December 10, 2026. That's about three weeks after GTA 6 drops on November 19, so the timing is actually kind of perfect if you need to decompress.

I've never touched a Layton game, but a puzzle game sounds like the right call after whatever chaos Lucia and Jason drag me through. The new trailer they put out shows off the cutscenes and some of the puzzle gameplay. Nothing too wild, just that classic Layton vibe. It's the series' first time on PS5, which is a big deal for people who've been waiting on that.

Push Square framed it as "something different after GTA 6" and honestly that's the whole pitch. I'll probably still be messing around in Leonida by mid December, but it's nice knowing there's a chill option waiting if I burn out on wanted levels. A game where the biggest threat is a tricky riddle instead of a six star chase sounds almost therapeutic after a month of GTA 6.

December 10 is exactly 21 days after November 19. GTA V's story averaged 31.5 hours to finish, GTA IV about 27 (HowLongToBeat). If GTA 6 lands anywhere in that range, anyone playing an hour a night still won't be done when Layton drops. The decompression window assumes faster completion than the numbers support.
