So the World Cup semifinal is set: England vs Norway, Kane vs Haaland. And yeah, the football's gonna be intense, but I can't help thinking about how both of these guys are basically gaming characters at this point. Kane's been a Fortnite skin for years, and Haaland got his own Clash of Clans skin a while back. It's like watching a crossover event nobody asked for but everyone's secretly into.

Haaland's the one that caught my eye though. Dude's a massive Xbox fan and from what I saw in that earlier article, he's just as hyped for GTA 6 as we are. Imagine being a world-class striker, about to play a World Cup semifinal, and still finding time to think about cruising around Vice City. That's dedication.

I'm not saying Rockstar should put him in the game or anything, but if there's a random Norwegian flag on a boat in Port Gellhorn, I'm gonna assume it's a nod. Anyone else hoping he drops some GTA 6 references during the post-match interview?

But a Norwegian flag somewhere in Port Gellhorn? That's the right kind of ambient detail. It doesn't need a cutscene or a side mission. Just a texture on a trawler that makes you do a double take. Those are the moments that stick. You find them on your own, no billboard required.

Haaland can keep his Xbox and his hype. I'm just hoping the match itself has some actual drama worth watching.
