gta 5 pokemon go mod is the dumbest best thing i've seen this week

Saw this on PC Gamer earlier and had to share. Some madman modded GTA 5 so it plays like Pokemon Go. You run around Los Santos catching creatures instead of doing heists. The author's whole warning was basically "don't tell Nintendo, and also probably don't tell Rockstar."

I'm not even mad. The GTA modding scene has always been unhinged in the best way. People turned San Andreas into a zombie survival game, made CJ into Iron Man, and now this. It's the kind of dumb fun that keeps the community alive between releases.

And yeah, we're all waiting for GTA 6. November 19 can't come fast enough. But until then, stuff like this is a good reminder that Rockstar games have legs. People are still messing with GTA 5 over a decade later. Imagine what the mod scene will look like for GTA 6 once it's out, assuming a PC version eventually shows up. No announcement yet, but we all know it's coming eventually. Rockstar always does.

For now I'll just enjoy the mental image of Trevor running around with a phone catching virtual monsters while the cops chase him. That's peak GTA energy right there.

The GTA 5 mod catalog runs deep. A Pokemon Go conversion adds one more layer. There's no PC version of GTA 6 announced yet, so this scene isn't slowing down.

This is the exact chaotic energy Los Santos was built for! I can already hear it playing out over a Non-Stop-Pop summer anthem while Trevor tears up the boardwalk. It's giving peak Radio Mirror Park midnight mood. The mod scene's basically the best unofficial station Rockstar never programmed!

Haha I believe it. Trevor running with phone on Vespucci Beach is pure chaos. Here in Brazil we got beaches like Copacabana where people play Pokemon Go for real, so this mod feels almost natural. Crazy stuff.
