jason's face during the car chase says way more than people give him credit for

Rewatched the car chase a few times and I don't get the dull Jason takes at all. The mask hides half his face but you can still read exactly what's going on.

When the cops first light them up he looks genuinely reluctant. Not scared exactly, more like he doesn't want to be in a shootout. His eyes do this thing where he's almost checking with Lucia before committing.

Then right before he starts firing there's a beat where he steels himself. You can see him talk himself into it. That's not a blank slate, that's a character who knows what he's about to do is ugly.

People keep saying he's Claude 2.0 or whatever but Claude never had a moment like that. Claude was a brick wall on purpose. Jason reads more like someone who's conflicted about the violence, which would be a pretty big shift for a GTA protagonist.

If Rockstar can sell that internal conflict through a mask and some eye animation, the full performance is going to be something else. I'm way more interested in Jason now than I was after the first trailer.
