The GTA 6 marketing silence is giving me Cyberpunk flashbacks

We're about four months out from launch and I can't shake this nagging feeling. Remember the Cyberpunk 2077 hype cycle? All those slick trailers, Keanu Reeves, and then the game dropped in a state that took years to fix. I'm not saying GTA 6 will be that broken, but the parallels are starting to stack up.

Rockstar's shown us two trailers, both heavily polished, and they came out a year apart. The graphics and character models don't even look consistent between them. With GTA 5, by this point we'd already seen proper gameplay walkthroughs, Michael and Franklin in action, the city being explored. For GTA 6, we've got nothing but cinematic cuts. No raw gameplay. No HUD. No sense of how anything actually plays.

The delays don't help either. The game got pushed back, and every time that happens, people bring up Cyberpunk. I know Rockstar's track record is way better, but crunch and scope creep can hit any studio. And there's always that worry about downgrades to make it run on the Series S. The trailers look incredible, but will the final game look like that on my console?

Pre-orders are live and we still haven't seen a second of real gameplay. That'd be a massive red flag for any other publisher. I'm still cautiously optimistic, Rockstar rarely misses, but the silence is weird. I'd feel a lot better if they just dropped a mission or some free roam footage. Not a sizzle reel, just the game running.
