macca the gator from the $400 collector's box is getting 3d printed already

Dexerto's got a piece up about fans 3D printing their own Macca the Gator figures. Apparently the printable files for the collectible from the $400 Collector's Box are already floating around online and people are making their own instead of buying the box.

I've seen a few prints pop up in discords and on twitter. Some of them look surprisingly close to the real thing, at least from a distance. Resin printers especially are getting the scale detail right. FDM prints look a bit rough but with some sanding and paint they'd probably pass on a shelf.

The speed on this is what gets me. The box hasn't even been out that long and someone already modeled the gator. The GTA community does not waste time when there's merch to replicate.

I'm not linking the files or anything, but they're not exactly hidden if you go looking. I'm sure Rockstar's lawyers will have thoughts eventually, but for now it's a fun little workaround for anyone who wanted Macca without dropping $400 on the whole bundle.

I kind of respect it. The figure is the one part of that box people actually seem to care about, and now there's a way to get something close without paying collector's edition money. If the quality keeps improving, I might ask a friend with a printer to hook me up.
