control resonant's disc delay is a reminder that gta 6 won't have one at all

Remedy just announced Control Resonant went gold, digital hits September 24. But the physical version slipped to October 15. So if you want the disc, you're waiting almost a month longer. That's annoying but not shocking at this point.
What got me was the GameSpot piece pointing out GTA 6 won't have a disc at all. Even the boxed edition is just a code in a case. I knew physical was dying but this is the first time a mainline GTA is skipping it entirely. Sony already said they're ending disc production in 2028, so the PS6 probably won't even have a drive. Feels like the writing's been on the wall.
I get why Rockstar is doing it. The game is huge, probably needs a day one patch anyway, and shipping discs costs money. But there's something about owning a physical copy of a GTA game. I still have my Vice City and San Andreas boxes on a shelf. A code in a box just isn't the same.
Control Resonant at least still has a physical version, just delayed. GTA 6 doesn't even give you that option. I'm not saying I'd cancel my preorder over it, but it does make me wonder how many people actually care about discs in 2026. Are we the minority now?
What do you all think, is the no disc thing a dealbreaker for anyone or are you fine with digital only?
