I've been through every GTA drought since San Andreas, and this one hits different. Back then we'd go months with zero info, no clue when the next trailer would drop, just endless speculation threads and fake leaks. The wait for GTA 5 was brutal. RDR2 was worse. But this time? We have a date. August 27. The extended look is actually happening, and it's not some vague "soon" from Rockstar.

That's the thing that's been keeping me sane. Every other drought felt like staring into a void. Now I can count the days. 11 days from today. And once that extended look drops, the marketing machine is going to kick into overdrive. We're two months out from launch at that point. Two months of trailers, screenshots, previews, maybe even a gameplay blowout. The final stretch.

Strauss Zelnick said something a while back that I keep coming back to. He called the extended look "one of the hors d'oeuvres" for the marketing campaign. Then he said there's appetizers, main course and dessert to follow. That's not a man who's worried about hype. That's a man who knows exactly what's coming and is just waiting to serve it up.

I remember the GTA 5 marketing cycle. Once the gameplay trailer hit in July 2013, it was nonstop until September. Screenshots every week, previews from every outlet, the whole map getting dissected frame by frame. I'm expecting the same thing here, but bigger. Rockstar's been quiet for so long that when they finally open the floodgates, it's going to be overwhelming.

And honestly, I'm ready for it. The drought has been long, but knowing there's a hard end date makes it bearable. 11 more days. Then the real fun starts.
