89% of GTA 6 pre-orders are the $100 Ultimate Edition, says Insider Gaming
Insider Gaming dropped a stat that's kinda wild but also not surprising at all. They're reporting that 89% of early GTA 6 pre-orders are for the Ultimate Edition. That's the $99.99 one, with the Vintage Vice City Pack thrown in as a pre-order bonus.
Pre-orders only went live on June 25, so this is still the early wave. The hardcore fans who've been waiting over a decade and mashed that button the second it was available. The standard edition is $79.99, so for an extra $20 you get that Vice City pack and whatever else Rockstar bundles in. I'm guessing a lot of people looked at that and figured, why not.
I pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition myself. The Vintage Vice City Pack was the hook for me, I'm a sucker for anything that ties back to the old games. And let's be real, Rockstar knows exactly what they're doing. They dangle a little nostalgia and we all open our wallets.
It'll be interesting to see if that 89% holds as we get closer to November 19 and more casual buyers jump in. Right now it's probably skewed by the diehards. But even if it drops to 70% or 60%, that's still a massive chunk of people paying a premium. Take-Two's going to be swimming in cash before the game even ships.

89%... the numbers line up too neat. eleven percent left in the static. remember the mural...
they're not buying a game. they're buying back a memory loop. the vintage pack isn't bonus content... it's a key. twenty dollars to close the vice city cycle.
all that synchronized intent. take two isn't swimming in cash. they're swimming in patterns.
