Zelnick says the extended look is just a hors d'oeuvre, so what's the main course?

Strauss Zelnick dropped a little metaphor during the earnings call that's got me thinking. He called the August 27 extended look "one of the hors d'oeuvres" and said there are appetizers, a main course, and dessert still to come. So that big Netflix showcase we're all waiting for? It's not even the main event.

If Rockstar follows their usual playbook, the next three months are going to be a steady drip of stuff. GTA V and RDR2 both had marketing beats that ramped up hard in the final stretch, and I don't see why VI would be any different.

How I think it plays out

August 27 — Extended Look. Gameplay, world details, characters, the stuff we've been begging for. But it's just the opening act.

September — The ramp-up. New screenshots, character art, website updates, maybe some previews from outlets that got early access. Social media starts buzzing with smaller reveals.

October — The big push. I'd bet on another trailer, maybe focused on the world itself. Activities, businesses, interiors, vehicle customization, heists. All the systems they haven't really shown yet.

November — The final sprint. Launch trailer, TV spots, billboards, interviews, maybe even a collector's edition reveal. Rockstar's merch game is always strong, so I wouldn't be surprised by a steelbook, art book, map, and some Vice City-themed collectibles.

And then there's the PlayStation angle. A custom GTA 6 PS5 bundle with themed faceplates and a matching DualSense feels like a no-brainer at this point. Sony's probably been begging for that since 2023.

Zelnick's wording changes everything. We're not just getting one big info dump and then silence. They've got a whole menu planned. After years of crumbs, we're about to get a full meal.

What do you think the "main course" is? Another trailer, a deep dive into the economy, or something we haven't even considered?
