GTA 5 lead Ned Luke never got the whole script as Rockstar only sends it "in pieces"

Saw the GamesRadar piece with Ned Luke talking about the GTA 5 script process and it's pretty wild. He said Rockstar never gave him the full script. They sent it over in pieces, and even then he ended up with more than 3,500 pages. That's not a typo. Over three thousand five hundred pages.

"I was like a gamer guy, so I knew it was going to be big."

That quote is basically his whole vibe. He knew the scale early, even without seeing everything. Rockstar keeping actors in the dark like that makes sense when you think about how they handle leaks. Nobody can spoil the whole story if nobody has the whole story.

What gets me is how this probably carries over to GTA 6. We already know Rockstar is tight with info. The extended look back in August was maybe 20 minutes of footage and people still combed through it frame by frame. If the voice actors for Lucia and Jason are getting their lines the same way, they might not even know how their own scenes fit together until launch week.

3500 pages is already a massive amount of dialogue. If GTA 6 is bigger, and everything points to it being bigger, I can't imagine what the page count looks like now. Probably enough to fill a shelf.

Anyway, I just thought the piece was worth sharing. It's one of those small behind the scenes details that makes the wait feel a little more real. Less than three weeks out now.
