Fable director says they're not scared of other big games, just GTA 6

So the Fable director did an interview and basically said they're fine launching near most big releases, but there's one they're happy to avoid entirely. And yeah, it's GTA 6. No surprise there.
The quote floating around is something like "there's just one that I'm happy to avoid entirely." They didn't name it in the snippet but PC Gamer's headline spells it out. Everyone knows what they mean. You don't drop an RPG in the same window as Rockstar's next thing unless you want to get buried.
I get it. Fable's got its own audience and all, but GTA 6 is a different beast. The hype around this game is unreal. Pre-orders opened back in June and people are already planning their November around it. The extended look just dropped and the internet basically broke. Netflix crashed, Twitch went down, YouTube comments are full of people joking about surviving until launch. It's a cultural event at this point.
Fable's smart to steer clear. Even if the games aren't direct competitors, attention is finite. Why fight for headlines when Rockstar's dropping 26 minutes of footage and every outlet is covering it nonstop? I'd dodge that too.
Makes me wonder how many other studios are quietly moving their dates. We already saw Squadron 42 push to 2027 with Chris Roberts saying he won't launch into GTA 6's "attention buzz saw." Helldivers 2's boss said they're glad GTA 6 skipped PC for now. Now Fable's director is saying the same thing. The industry is treating November 19 like a black hole.
Can't blame them. I've got friends who don't even play games that much and they know GTA 6 is coming. That's the kind of reach you can't compete with. Fable will be fine whenever it lands, but launching anywhere near GTA 6 would be a mistake.
Anyway, just thought it was funny to see another dev openly admit it. At this point it's less of a secret and more of a survival strategy.
