31.1 million views in a few days is wild for a video that's basically a long trailer. Netflix put the extended look on their English film list and it went straight to #1 in 87 countries. People are treating this like an actual release.

I know it aired on Netflix first before YouTube and rockstargames.com, so the number probably includes a lot of folks who don't normally follow gaming news. That's the part that gets me. GTA 6 is pulling in an audience way beyond the usual crowd. I've seen people who haven't touched a GTA since San Andreas mention it because it showed up on their Netflix home screen.

It's also funny that Netflix counts it as a film when it's really just a long trailer. The platform doesn't care, it's content and people watched it. 87 countries at #1 means this thing had global reach on day one.

Rockstar basically got a movie premiere for a trailer and it worked. The marketing cycle for this game is unlike anything I've seen. November can't come soon enough.

31 million people and half of them probably heard that soundtrack for the first time! Whatever they picked for it, that's a needle drop with crazy reach now.
