jason and lucia used to be a thing, edge mag interview makes it pretty clear

Saw this quote from the EDGE magazine piece and it's basically confirmation of something a lot of us already suspected. Rob Nelson was talking about Jason and Lucia's relationship and said they start the game wanting to be together and give the relationship "another shot."

That phrase is doing a ton of work. You don't give something another shot unless there was a first shot that didn't work out. So they were together before the story, split up at some point, and now they're trying again. I remember seeing people argue about this after the first trailer because of the way they interacted in the motel scene, but now it's pretty much spelled out.

The obvious question is why they broke up. Lucia going to prison seems like the easiest answer. Maybe they were a couple, she got locked up, and that ended things. Or maybe the prison thing came after they already split. The way Nelson phrased it, they both want to be together at the start of the game, so it's not one-sided. That's interesting because it means neither of them moved on. They've both been stuck on this for a while.

This changes how I'm reading the trailers. The first one had them in bed together, which already hinted at intimacy, but now it feels heavier. The second trailer had that moment where Jason looks at Lucia while she's driving, and there's some tension there. If they're exes trying again, every scene between them carries more weight.
