GTA 6’s New TV Trailer Is A Bit Different, See It For Yourself

Caught the new GTA 6 TV commercial last night and something felt off. So I went back and compared it to the launch trailer. Turns out the 30 second cut removes the shower scenes with Jason and Lucia entirely. Not a huge shock for broadcast TV, but it's a different edit than what we saw online.

What's weirder is that the TV version actually has some slightly longer shots. The airplane sequence lingers a bit more, and there's a moment where Jason and Lucia are standing next to their car. Jason nudges her, and in the TV spot she nearly falls over. The launch trailer cut that short. It's the kind of tiny difference only the frame by frame crowd would catch.

Also the Xbox logo is gone from the TV ads. Rockstar reportedly has a promo deal with Sony, so that tracks. The 90 second version keeps the shower scenes and includes those longer sequences too. So if you saw the longer one, you got both. The 30 second one is the sanitized cut.

It's wild that we're at the point where TV spots are getting dissected like this. The game is out November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, even if the ads don't mention Xbox. Preorders are apparently pacing way ahead of other big AAA games from the last five years, which isn't surprising but still ridiculous.

Did anyone else notice the nudge moment, or did you just see the ad and move on?
