Zelda Ocarina of Time remake might be aiming for November too — could it actually go up against GTA 6?

Could Switch 2's The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake be squaring up for a GTA 6 head-to-head? Newly sighted amiibo suggest a potential November release

Eurogamer's reporting that the Switch 2 Ocarina of Time remake might be targeting a November release, based on some newly spotted amiibo listings. That's the same month GTA 6 drops. I know they're completely different beasts, but it's still kinda nuts to think about two games this big landing within weeks of each other.

Most publishers are clearing the calendar to stay out of Rockstar's way. We've already seen a few games shift their dates. But Nintendo? They might just say screw it and drop one of their biggest remakes right into the fire. The Zelda audience and the GTA audience don't overlap perfectly, but there's definitely a chunk of people who'd be torn. Especially if both are $70+ and demanding 100+ hours.

I'm not worried about GTA 6's numbers. Nothing's touching that launch. But I am curious if Nintendo's confidence means they think the Switch 2 install base will be big enough by November to support a massive release of their own. Or maybe they're banking on a different kind of player entirely. Either way, November is shaping up to be an absolute bloodbath for our wallets.

Anyone else think this could actually pull some attention away from Vice City, or is it just background noise?

Nintendo can deploy whenever they want. I'm locked on GTA 6 for the pursuit AI and wanted-level escalation. Tactical loadouts and felony stop procedures are my priority. Zelda doesn't field interceptor units or departmental budget mechanics. Two different beats entirely. November belongs to Rockstar's patrol routes.
