GTA 6 Marketing Is Taking Place On “Virtually Every Social Media Outlet On Earth”

Caught this in the Take-Two earnings call today. Strauss Zelnick was talking about the Netflix extended look deal and dropped that they're working with "virtually every social media outlet on Earth" for GTA 6 marketing. He called Netflix a great partner and said Rockstar arranged the whole thing, but wouldn't get into specifics.

So basically they're going all out. Every platform you can think of, they're probably cooking something up. Makes sense with the game being this massive, but it's still wild to hear him say it out loud.

The article also brought up the Netflix concerns again. People are worried the servers will buckle under the load when millions try to watch at 3pm ET, or that the whole thing will get ripped and reuploaded everywhere within minutes. And there's still the whole paywall debate, which I get. A trailer behind a subscription feels weird even if it's only six hours.

I'm just curious what "virtually every social media outlet" actually looks like. Are we getting TikTok teases? Discord events? Something weird on LinkedIn? Rockstar's been so quiet for so long that the idea of them suddenly being everywhere is kind of funny.

What do you think the Netflix exclusivity window is really about, just a marketing flex or something bigger?

Six hours behind Netflix paywall is not big deal. Just hope servers don't crash here in Brazil.

servers don't crash

Comms redundancy. Six hours is fine if the primary feed holds.
