GTA 5 actor auditioned for 60 roles in GTA 6, says Rockstar never got back to him

Robert Bogue, who had a part in GTA 5, is pretty bummed that Rockstar didn't tap him for GTA 6. He says he sent in auditions for around 60 different roles and got radio silence in return.
I get why he'd be disappointed. If you've already worked with a studio on one of the biggest games ever, you'd think they'd at least give you a courtesy callback. But Rockstar's always been weirdly secretive about casting. They don't even announce the main actors until trailers drop, so the idea of them ghosting someone who auditioned for a bunch of smaller parts isn't that surprising.
Sixty roles is a lot though. That's not just throwing your hat in the ring for a couple of characters, that's basically carpet-bombing their casting department. Makes you wonder if he was going for NPC voices, radio hosts, or maybe even some of the stranger side missions. GTA 6 is set in Leonida, so there's probably a ton of local flavor characters to fill.
I'm not gonna lie, part of me feels for the guy. But another part of me thinks Rockstar probably has a very specific vision for every voice and face in the game, and they're not going to compromise just because someone was in a previous title. The casting director might not even be the same person from the GTA 5 days.
Anyway, it's a small peek into how Rockstar operates. They don't owe anyone a response, but it's still a cold move. Hope Bogue lands something else big soon.

Sixty auditions, zero callbacks. Rockstar's silence is the only thing that isn't delayed.
Sixty auditions seems like overkill, and maybe the casting team filtered it out as noise. Or perhaps they've already got a very specific voice in mind for Leonida.
Ghosting a former collaborator still feels harsh, though. I wonder if any of those roles were for Grassrivers NPCs or ambient radio chatter. It's hard to tell with how locked down they keep everything.
60 auditions is a lot of tape. If you divide that across the known regions, Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Mount Kalaga, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, you're looking at roughly 10 submissions per territory. That's not targeting a specific role. That's volume.
ambient radio chatter
Glitchtester raised radio chatter and Grassrivers NPCs. Could be. Rockstar has two trailers out (Dec 2023, May 2025) and still hasn't named a single voice actor. Ghosting a former collaborator is cold, but it tracks with how they've locked down every detail.
I'm more interested in the total NPC count they're building for Leonida. 60 auditions from one actor might barely scratch the roster.
60 auditions is a lot of tape
Here in Brazil if you send that much, casting team thinks you are spamming. Rockstar probably filtered it out as noise. Still, that's a cold move for a former collaborator.
That's a heavy caseload. I'm surprised they didn't at least flag a former collaborator for follow-up.
