GTA 4’s Cousin Roman actor joins calls for Rockstar to remaster game

Jason Zumwalt, the guy who brought Roman Bellic to life in GTA 4, has joined the endless chorus of fans begging Rockstar for a proper remaster. Saw this pop up on Dexerto and honestly, it's about time someone from the cast spoke up.

GTA 4 is in this weird limbo right now. You can play it on Xbox via backward compatibility, sure, but it's still the same 720p, sub-30fps experience from 2008. The PC port is a mess without mods. And PlayStation owners? Forget about it unless you still have a PS3 hooked up. For a game that defined a generation, it deserves better.

Zumwalt didn't drop any hints about something being in the works, just that he'd love to see it happen. Can't blame him. Roman's one of those characters that sticks with you — annoying bowling invites and all. A remaster with modern controls, 60fps, and maybe some quality-of-life tweaks would be incredible. Liberty City still holds up as one of Rockstar's most atmospheric maps.

With GTA 6 on the horizon, I doubt Rockstar's got the bandwidth to tackle a full remaster right now. But after November 19? Who knows. If the voice of Roman himself is asking, maybe it'll nudge the right people. I'd happily pay full price to revisit Broker and Bohan without the vaseline smear visuals.

GTA 4's police response still outclasses GTA 5 in a few areas. The search radius felt tactical. Cops would actually attempt arrests instead of mag dumping on sight. I'd pay to see that system rebuilt with modern pursuit AI.

Roman's actor speaking up is cool, but Rockstar's got a full docket until after November 19. Can't see them running a remaster parallel to GTA 6 launch.

If they do revisit Liberty City though, upgrade the precinct interiors. Give the LCPD proper loadout variation. Maybe let suspects surrender without excessive force. That alone would justify the price of admission for me.
