GTA Online’s newest heist has fans worrying about GTA 6 feature

Finished the Kortz Center heist a few times now and I can't shake this bad feeling about what it means for GTA 6 Online. The heist itself is fine, some cool set pieces, but the way it's structured just screams "testing ground" for something bigger.

Think about it. The prep work is more tedious than ever, the payouts are stingy unless you min-max every bonus, and the whole thing feels designed to push you toward buying Shark Cards or whatever they'll call them in Leonida. I know, I know, GTA Online has always been grindy, but this heist feels different. It's like they're seeing how much busywork we'll tolerate before we just open our wallets.

And the solo experience? It's there, but it's clunky. You can tell they want you in a crew, coordinating, because that's where the real monetization happens. More players means more potential spenders. I'm worried GTA 6 Online will launch with this philosophy baked in from day one, not bolted on years later like it was with GTA V.

I'm not saying the heist is bad. It's got some great moments. But the design choices feel less like "let's make a fun heist" and more like "let's see how far we can push the economy before people revolt." And with GTA 6 still months away, this feels like a preview of what's coming. I really hope I'm wrong, but Rockstar's been leaning hard into the grind lately. I just want a fun online mode that doesn't feel like a second job.

I cleared Kortz at 100%. The Big Score didn't bury its payoff under this much spreadsheet bloat.

spreadsheet bloat

That nails it. I'm worried the prep phase in GTA 6 might gate actual fun behind even more arbitrary timers, but maybe I'm just paranoid.
