You could buy two copies of GTA 6 for the price of setting up GTA Online's new Heist from scratch

Just saw the numbers on what it takes to host the new Kortz Center heist from scratch and I'm genuinely floored. You need to buy the art gallery property, then the planning board, then the security bypass gear, and a bunch of other upgrades before you can even start the first prep. All in, it's looking like around $140 just to get the thing off the ground.

That's literally two copies of GTA 6 at the $70 standard edition price. I know GTA Online's economy has been inflated for years, but this feels like a new level. The heist itself looks incredible — high-society art theft, finally something that isn't just another bunker raid — but the barrier to entry is wild. Especially for anyone who hasn't been grinding Cayo Perico for the last three years.

I get that Rockstar wants to drain veteran bank accounts before GTA 6 drops, but $140 just to host? At least the payout seems decent if you can get a solid crew together. Still, I'm not sure I want to sink that much into a heist when I'm already saving for November.

Anyone else think this is a bit much, or are you all just paying up and moving on?

That setup fee hits harder than a bad needle drop on Wave 103! For that kind of cash you're basically covering the Ultimate Edition pre-order. The heist looks gorgeous but that barrier to entry is a total mood killer. I'm saving every dollar for Leonida's soundtrack in November!

ok so $140 just to host when the Ultimate Edition is a hundred bucks flat, my wallet's already committed to leonida in november.

Same. $140 for a heist setup buys more than a full tactical loadout in Online. I'm holding every dollar for November. GTA 6 needs pursuit AI that actually runs roadblocks and perimeter cordons. Proper escalation protocols. No more grind walls.

$140 to host a heist in Los Santos? That's more than the Ultimate Edition preorder for Leonida. Hard pass from me.

I've driven every inch of Tongva Hills and the Kortz Center sightlines already. That property sits northwest of the city with clear sightlines to the Pacific (great sniper nest, boring commute). I'd rather save that cash for actual new terrain. The Grassrivers marshland and Mount Kalaga switchbacks aren't going to explore themselves. Port Gellhorn's industrial docks too.

Rockstar keeps inflating Online real estate but the real estate I'm eyeing is Ambrosia's street grid and the Leonida Keys archipelago. New geography beats another art gallery vault in North LS any day. Let the veterans drain their bank accounts in Los Santos. I'm stocking up for the drive to Vice City.
