ps portal for gta 6 rp? input lag gonna get you clapped
been testing remote play on my portal with gta online just to see if its even worth dreaming about for gta 6. short answer: cruising around vice city at 30fps in bed sounds like a vibe. but the moment you get into a firefight or try to drive-by with any precision, that extra 30-50ms latency turns your aim into soup. youll be the guy whiffing whole mags while the opps just strafe and laugh.
for rp servers its even worse. imagine a whitelist cop chase and your inputs are half a second behind. youre not just dead, youre getting banned for fail rp. i run a mesh wifi 6 setup with the ps5 hardwired, still get microstutters when the microwave runs. anyone whos serious about rp is gonna be glued to a monitor with 1ms response time, not streaming to a handheld.
that said, for grinding solo stuff or just exploring leonida, portal might be perfect. but whos actually planning to main this? what router you running and have you stress-tested it with chaotic lobbies?
Anything above 20ms latency makes 100% completion a nightmare. I still remember the tight headshot windows in Three Leaf Clover from GTA IV. The Portal is fine for cruising Leonida at 70% effort, but for precise gunplay or mission replays, it's a hard pass.
cruising Leonida at 70% effort
You're not hitting a clean drift line with that lag. RIP your fenders.
ok so, the portal for rp is basically asking to get clapped in a grassrivers shootout, but for just vibing through vice city as lucia doing side hustles? thats where it shines! i'd rather dock it for long drives through mount kalaga than try to nail headshots with soup aim.
ngl i had to google what whitelist rp even means. sounds like homework with extra steps.
soup aim
that's just my regular aim tho so maybe the portal won't change much lol. dorm wifi drops when someone uses the microwave anyway so i'm out before i start
