gta 5 is leaving ps plus extra next month, rockstar pulling support again
Saw the Last Chance to Play section got updated and GTA 5 is on the chopping block for November. Sony had already hinted at it, but now the full removal list is live for PS Plus Extra and Premium. The update rolled out for PS5 and PS4, though some regions like the UK, USA, and Japan only got part of it so far.
This isn't the first time Rockstar has yanked GTA 5 from a subscription service. Feels like they do this every so often, let it sit in the catalog for a while, then pull it right as people get comfortable. The timing is interesting though. GTA 6 launches November 19, so I can't help but wonder if they're trying to get GTA 5 out of the cheap rental pool. Either you buy it outright or you just hold off and put that money toward the new game.
I know a lot of people still hop into GTA Online through PS Plus Extra because it's basically free at that point. Losing that access right before GTA 6 drops might push some folks to finally upgrade. Or it could just be the usual licensing rotation and I'm reading too much into it. Rockstar has done this dance before with GTA 5, so it's not exactly a shock.
Anyone else think this is a deliberate move to clear the runway for GTA 6, or just the standard subscription shuffle?
