january ps5 lineup is getting packed thanks to the gta 6 vacuum
Push Square put up a piece about January PS5 releases and it's getting silly. Ananta, Stranger Than Heaven, Until Dawn 2, and now Idea Factory International is throwing Villion: Code into the same window. Apparently the GTA 6 vacuum is pushing everything into early next year.
I get it from a business side. Nobody wants to launch next to GTA 6 in November, so they all pile into January thinking it's safe. But I'll be honest, I'm not touching any of those. I'll still be deep in Leonida by then. Maybe I'll pick up Until Dawn 2 around March when I need a break from Lucia and Jason.
What's funny is that January used to be a dead zone. Now it's the overflow month for everything that ran from Rockstar's date. I remember when games would just delay into spring, but now they're cramming into the first few weeks of the year. Ananta looks interesting, and Villion: Code has character designs from someone I actually follow, so I might keep an eye on it. But my PS5 is basically a GTA 6 machine from November onward.
Anyone else planning to ignore the January rush entirely, or is there something in that lineup that'll pull you away from Vice City for a weekend?
