no first person mode in gta 6 at launch? that's a bummer
Insider Gaming is saying GTA 6 won't ship with a first person mode. The headline says it's claimed but the article itself says it's confirmed, which is a little weird. Either way, if true, that's a pretty big change from what a lot of us expected.
I know some people never touch first person, but I used it constantly in GTA 5 and RDR2. Walking through Saint Denis in first person at night is still one of my favorite gaming memories. Vice City at sunset in first person would've been incredible.
The article does say it might get added later. GTA 5 didn't have first person at launch either, it came with the PS4 and Xbox One version. So Rockstar has done this before. But waiting months or years for a feature that feels standard now is rough.
I'm also wondering if this has anything to do with the animation work they've been doing. They've got 600k animations for NPCs and all these detailed body systems. Maybe first person just didn't fit with the new movement and combat feel they're going for. Or maybe it's a performance thing, keeping the frame rate stable on consoles.
What do you all think? Would you actually use first person in GTA 6, or is third person the only way to play?
