Saw this pop up on Insider Gaming and figured it was worth a thread. Apparently Xbox has locked down exclusive game streaming rights for GTA 6 on Xbox Cloud Gaming. No official word from Rockstar or Microsoft yet, just the report, so take it with a grain of salt for now.

If it's true, that's kind of a big deal for anyone who was hoping to stream the game on day one. Cloud gaming has been a mess for big launches, but Xbox has been pushing it hard with Game Pass Ultimate. GTA 6 isn't on Game Pass as far as we know, but streaming rights are separate from the subscription catalog. You'd still need to own the game, probably, and then stream it through their service.

What I'm curious about is what "exclusive" actually means here. Does it block GeForce Now, Amazon Luna, and whatever Sony has cooking? Or is it just a timed thing? Rockstar has historically been weird about streaming. They pulled GTA games from GeForce Now back in the day, so this wouldn't be totally out of character.

Also worth remembering there's no PC version announced for launch. If Xbox Cloud Gaming is the only streaming option, that could be a workaround for people without a console, assuming the latency doesn't ruin it. Vice City traffic at 60fps through a server farm sounds great until you're trying to outrun the cops and the stream stutters.

Anyway, curious what everyone thinks. Would you actually play GTA 6 through cloud streaming, or is that a hard pass until you've got it running natively?
