GTA 6's PC release date is set for "Q1 2027", per a new report

GamesBeat dropped a report this morning claiming the PC port is slated for Q1 2027, and Eurogamer picked it up. They're citing 'sources familiar with the matter,' which is always a fun phrase.

Rockstar hasn't said a word about PC beyond the console launch on November 19. Pre-orders are live for PS5 and Xbox, but there's no Steam or Epic page yet. So this is firmly rumor territory until we hear it from the horse's mouth.

What's interesting is the timing. Q1 2027 would put the PC version roughly three to four months after console release. That would be a huge change from Rockstar's usual pattern. GTA 5 PC took over a year and a half. RDR2 PC took over a year. If this report is accurate, Rockstar is either changing how they handle PC ports or they've been working on it in parallel the whole time.

I'm not going to get my hopes up. GamesBeat has decent sources sometimes, but 'sources familiar' can mean anything from an actual Rockstar employee to a guy who knows a guy. Eurogamer is just aggregating, they didn't confirm it independently.

Still, a Q1 2027 PC release would line up with a lot of people's guesses. The console version drops in November, holiday sales happen, then Rockstar can turn around and sell the game again to PC players a few months later. That's a solid business move.

I'll wait for an official announcement. If Rockstar does a PC trailer or a Steam page goes live, that's when I'll actually believe it. Until then it's just another rumor to file away.
